Hereford FC coffee morning and bucket collection supporting 21 Plus for World Down syndrome Day.
World Down syndrome Day is supported around the world on 21st March each year. WDSD is an opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate people with Down syndrome, as well as advocating for their rights and inclusion, and raising much needed funds for charities supporting people with Down syndrome. People wear colourful mismatched socks on WDSD as a talking point.
21 Plus is a local charity supporting children and young people with Down syndrome. They provide:
Weekly early intervention groups for pre-scholers
Weekly primary aged communication groups
A fortnightly youth group for teens and young afults
School support service providing training and support to schools and nurseries on the inclusion of children and young people with Down syndriomeAnnual programme of training and workshops for parents/carers and professionals
Annual sport and speech camp for primary and secondary aged children
Family events throughout the year
