FCSBC raises money from our plant sales for the City of Swansea Botanical Complex.
Our charitable aims include to further public education in botany and horticulture to provide for scientific study and research therein and to encourage the maintenance and preservation of the gardens, grounds and buildings in the City of Swansea Botanical Complex. To achieve its aims FCSBC requires a funding stream. Volunteers work every week on a variety of tasks all aimed at preparing stock for sale in the Plant Shop. Profits are put towards new and existing projects.
Why the community needs usParks offer huge opportunities for people to communicate, interact, learn and grow. They improve health and wellbeing as well as providing an oasis of calm and tranquillity. They are at the heart of the local community. FCSBC understand that in today's environment we cannot expect Local Authorities to look after parks by themselves, they need us and we need YOU. Please read our APPEAL page on fundraising for our Wildflower/WellBEEing Garden. 90 days to raise £12,838.00.
Our impact on the communityOver 25 years we have raised over £150,000 to enhance not only the Botanical Gardens, but Clyne Gardens and Plantasia. Items such as new signage, tree trail, tree labelling, bridges, reading circle, rain forest hut and sponsorship of events in the parks have been provided by the "Friends"/ The combination of natural green space and opportunities for walking and being involved with the natural world means green exercise can be a cheap and sustainable way of preventing public health problems.
